Meet Manhattan Dentist Office Staff

Betsy Martinez-Avila – Treatment Coordinator / Front Desk Manager

Born and raised in Queens, New York, I found my first job in dentistry while attending college in Manhattan. It has been 18 years since and I continue to love all aspects of it as if it were day one! From working with patients to educating myself through various courses to learning hands on. Ensuring our patient’s comfort from their first step into our practice is one of my main priorities. I am here to discuss and answer any questions regarding insurance, treatment plans, payment options and more.

On my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two daughters which usually entail some kind of arts and crafts or touring our beautiful city to discover new places to eat.

Rosie, RDH – Dental Hygienist

RosieI graduated from Clara Barton with a certificate in Dental assisting. I was able to do my internship at Long Island College Hospital and Woodhull Hospital. Prior to seeking a dental hygiene career, I went on to work with a general dental practice for eight years. In 2006, I obtained my Associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene as well as my Bachelor’s degree in Health Services Administration from New York City College of Technology (CUNY). In 2007, I became part of our dental team. It is refreshing to work with a group of people who share the same desire to do their best for our patients. I attend numerous CE seminars and courses to increase my knowledge in the dental field. I’m very passionate and devoted to what I do. My objective is to provide the best optimal oral care for my patients. In my spare time away from work, I love to spend my time with my family and friends.

Maria Escuadra — Dental Assistant

Maria-2I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to the United States in 1995. I have been assisting since 1996 in various dental offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I have been Dr. Gorsky’s chairside assistant since 2004. He is one of a kind. He is always ready to listen, educate and spend time explaining what needs to be done and how it will affect the patient’s overall health.

I enjoy being involved with all new treatment concepts and technologies, particularly the Dawson Academy work which Dr. Gorsky has been recently trained in, like analyzing bite issues and related TMJ disorders.
