Porcelain Veneers Manhattan, NY

Dr. Brad Gorsky offers porcelain veneers as both a restorative and cosmetic treatment option. Made from thin, translucent ceramic materials, porcelain veneers can provide a lasting, durable and natural-looking solution to a variety of dental problems.

Dental Veneers vs. Dental Crowns vs. Tooth Bonding

Dr. Gorsky will recommend the appropriate treatment option based on your oral health and cosmetic goals. Tooth bonding is often considered an economical alternative to porcelain veneers and may be recommended for minor cosmetic concerns or tooth damage. Porcelain veneers can be placed later for a more permanent solution.

A porcelain veneer will cover the front and sides of the tooth, whereas a dental crown covers the entire tooth much like a cap. Dental crowns are the best option for a severely damaged or decayed tooth to avoid tooth loss.

About Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers can be used to solve a variety of dental concerns, both cosmetic and health-related:

  • Fix gaps between teeth
  • Stained or discolored teeth that will not respond to teeth whitening
  • Chipped, cracked or damaged teeth
  • Misshapen teeth
  • Change the shape of short or long teeth

Dr. Gorsky will work with you to create the smile you desire while also improving overall dental health. A comfortable, healthy bite is an important part of your daily quality of life, and feeling good about your smile can boost your sense of confidence.

Porcelain Veneer Procedure

The process for porcelain veneers begins with a comprehensive exam and consultation.

The porcelain veneer procedure usually takes 2 or 3 visits to your dentist. Dr. Gorsky will prepare the teeth for the veneers by removing a small amount of the natural tooth structure. This creates room for the veneers to fit comfortably and securely in your mouth.

The porcelain veneers will be fabricated in a dental laboratory. Dr. Gorsky will send an impression of your teeth along with treatment specifications to a highly talented ceramist, who will hand-fabricate each tooth veneer. It generally takes about 3 weeks for Dr. Gorsky to receive your final restorations.

At the final appointment, Dr. Gorsky will try the veneers on your teeth and then cement them to the teeth for a permanent restoration.
