Dental implants are tiny, titanium post that is surgically implanted into the jawbone. The dental implant will be a secure foundation for either a dental bridge, dental crown or denture. Your restoration is dependent on the number of missing teeth your have and their location. A dental bridge can be used to replace several consecutive missing teeth. A dental crown can be used to replace single missing teeth. A denture can be used to replace either the top arch of teeth or the bottom arch of teeth. Dr. Gorsky will perform a comprehensive exam to determine which option will best suit your dental needs and goals. In the case that dental implants are not right for you, Dr. Gorsky offers a wide range of cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry services to help improve the function, quality, and aesthetic of your smile.
Benefits of dental implants:
- Durable and stable foundation for your restoration option
- Less maintenance than other replacement options
- Function like natural teeth
- Can chew, speak, and drink comfortably
- Prevents further bone loss and gum recession
- One of the highest tooth replacement success rates
The Procedure: Dental Implants
Receiving dental implant will require multiple visits to our New York dental office. Dr. Gorksy will begin by examining your teeth, gums, and jawbone to determine if you are an ideal candidate for dental implants. If you are, Dr. Gorsky will work in close collaboration with a local surgeon who will perform the implantation part of the dental implant procedure. It will take anywhere from 3-6 months for the dental implants to fuse into the jawbone. Once the dental implant fuses with the jawbone, Dr. Gorsky will attach either a dental bridge, dental crown, or denture as your final restoration. Once the restoration is attached, patients will have a durable, functional and beautiful solution to their missing teeth.
